Jane learned a new letter and sound yesterday—/m/. Last week they learned /p/, /o/, and /t/, and this week they’re learning /m/, /n/, and /a/. [In the photo above she was showing me the 4 letters she’s already learned, in the order they learned them.] By the end of the week she’ll be able to spell 19 words with the 6 letters she’ll know! The /t/ and the /m/ both end in “monkey tails” when they’re written, which apparently helps lay the groundwork for cursive later on.
